Common Questions
Maison Hearth is a home and lifestyle blog built around the things that make home feel like home. Youβll find cooking, baking, DIY projects, seasonal decorating, favorite finds, stories from everyday life, and plenty of creative ideas along the way.
Itβs good food, messy projects, real life, and a little sass all gathered under one roof.
Hi, Iβm Michele, the heart, hands, recipe tester, project starter, occasional mess maker, and chief Coca-Cola drinker behind Maison Hearth.
I love creating things for the home, whether that means pulling something warm from the oven, trying a new recipe, decorating for the season, or starting a DIY project that seemed much easier when I pictured it in my head.
Maison means home or house in French, while the hearth has traditionally been the heart of the home, the place where people gathered for food, warmth, stories, and time together.
Put the two together and you have exactly what I want this little corner of the internet to feel like: a gathering place centered around home.
Not even close!
Cooking and baking are a big part of Maison Hearth, but around here we have a habit of wandering into the craft room, decorating the porch, tackling DIY projects, celebrating the seasons, sharing favorite finds, talking about real life, and occasionally wondering why we started three projects at the same time.
Basically, if it makes home a little happier, prettier, tastier, or more interesting, thereβs probably room for it here.
Youβll find a little bit of everything, from cozy family dinners and savory favorites to cookies, cakes, cupcakes, breads, desserts, appetizers, seasonal treats, and fun copycat recipes.
My goal is food that feels approachable and worth making. You shouldn’t need a culinary degree and seventeen specialty gadgets just to get dinner on the table.
6. Are Maison Hearth recipes beginner-friendly?
Absolutely. I want you to feel comfortable walking into your kitchen and giving a recipe a try, even if you’re still figuring things out.
Iβll share tips, tricks, and helpful information whenever I can. And remember, kitchens are allowed to get messy. Cookies occasionally come out shaped like distant relatives of the cookies we intended to make.
We eat them anyway.

Please do!
Some of the best ideas begin with someone asking, βHave you ever tried…?β
If thereβs a recipe you’d love to see, a restaurant favorite you’d like me to recreate, a seasonal project you’re curious about, or something else you’d like Maison Hearth to tackle, send your idea my way.
I can’t promise I’ll attempt everything, but I certainly love adding new ideas to the ever-growing list.
Shop My Favorites is where I gather kitchen finds, baking goodies, home favorites, seasonal pieces, useful products, and the occasional completely unnecessary-but-fabulous thing that caught my eye.
Some items are things I personally own and use, while others may be products I’ve researched, am considering, or have sitting on my own wish list.
Some links may also be affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. I’ll always do my best to be clear and transparent about what I’m sharing.
I LOVE when you share a link to something you’ve found on Maison Hearth. That’s one of the best ways to help someone else discover the blog, too.
However, my original recipes, written content, photographs, graphics, and other creative work belong to Maison Hearth and shouldn’t be copied and republished in full without permission.
If you’d like to feature something from Maison Hearth on your website, publication, or business page, please contact me first. I’m always happy to chat about appropriate sharing and collaboration.
And if you make one of my recipes or projects, please tag Maison Hearth! I would genuinely love to see what you created.
Good heavens, NO.
There will be crooked cookies. Frosting will occasionally refuse to cooperate. Craft supplies will somehow migrate across the entire house. Dinner might not look remotely like the picture we had in our heads.
That’s real life.
Maison Hearth isn’t about creating a picture-perfect home. It’s about enjoying the home you’re creating while you’re actually living in it.
Try the recipe. Make the project. Decorate the table. Invite people over even though everything isn’t perfect.
Around here, we’re much more interested in making memories than making perfection.
