About Maison Hearth

Hi, I’m Michele, the founder, creator, recipe tester, project starter, and occasional mess maker behind Maison Hearth.

Maison Hearth was born from my love of home and all the wonderfully imperfect things that happen inside it. Most importantly, it’s a place where home cooking, baking, DIY projects, seasonal decorating, and everyday life all have a seat at the table.

Welcome to My Wonderfully Imperfect Home

I’m happiest in the kitchen trying a new recipe, pulling out an old family favorite, or baking far more cookies than any household reasonably needs. Of course, I’m also very good at convincing myself that I absolutely have room for one more piece of bakeware.

Meanwhile, when I’m not in the kitchen, there’s a pretty good chance I’ve started a DIY project, pulled out the seasonal decorations, or found something else around the house that suddenly needs my attention.

Around here, I believe a beautiful home doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, I think the best homes rarely are.

They’re the homes with something simmering on the stove, flour on the counter, and a half-finished project taking over the table. At the same time, family is wandering through the kitchen, a dog is supervising absolutely everything, and somebody is inevitably asking, β€œWhen is dinner going to be ready?”

That’s the kind of home I love.

I’m a wife, mom of three, grandma of five, and a firm believer that some of the very best memories are made around the table. After all, those everyday moments are often the ones we remember most.

Life in Western New York

I live in the hills of Western New York, where every season brings another excuse to cook, bake, preserve, decorate, craft, and rearrange something in the house.

Honestly, I can make almost anything an excuse to decorate.

For example, fall means cozy recipes and changing leaves, while winter brings holiday baking and homemade traditions. Then, spring makes me want to freshen up the entire house. Finally, summer brings gardens, fresh ingredients, preserving, and recipes made for long days at home.

No matter the season, there is always something happening around here.

What You’ll Find at maison hearth

Maison Hearth is my little corner of the internet where I get to share all of that with you.

Here, you’ll find tried-and-true recipes, baking adventures, seasonal inspiration, DIY projects, crafts, favorite finds, and stories from everyday life.

For instance, some recipes are old favorites that have earned a permanent place in my kitchen. On the other hand, others begin with an idea and get changed somewhere between the mixing bowl and the dinner table.

The projects work pretty much the same way.

Sometimes, they turn out exactly as planned. Other times, they require a Plan B, a little creativity, and occasionally a conversation with the hot glue gun about who exactly is in charge.

Either way, there’s usually a story to tell when it’s finished.

No perfect homes required

There’s no pressure for perfection here.

Recipes sometimes get changed halfway through. Likewise, crafts occasionally require a Plan B. Dinner doesn’t always look Pinterest-worthy, either.

The kitchen gets messy, projects take longer than expected, and plans sometimes go completely sideways. Still, some days are held together with determination, laughter, and a very cold Coca-Cola (which I am trying to quit).

That’s real life.

And, ultimately, that’s exactly what I want Maison Hearth to feel like.

A warm kitchen.
A lived-in home.
A seat at the table.
And a place where you never have to pretend everything is perfectly put together.

Because, in the end, home isn’t about creating something perfect enough to photograph.

Instead, it’s about creating a place that feels like yours.

Stay Awhile at Maison Hearth

So, pull up a chair and look around.

Grab a recipe to make for dinner, find something sweet to bake, or start a project you may or may not finish today. Maybe, you’ll find inspiration for the next season. Or perhaps, you’ll discover a new favorite and stick around for the stories and everyday chaos.

Above all, I hope Maison Hearth feels welcoming, familiar, and a little like coming home.

There’s always room for one more around this table.

So, come as you are, make yourself at home, and stay awhile at Maison Hearth.
