Hey, you wonderful sassy, mess!

I’m Michele, and I’m thrilled to welcome you!

Here at Maison Hearth, we laugh often, love deeply, and believe a warm home is built with heart, humor, and a little sass. I celebrate the messy, the delicious, and the everyday moments that make life worth living. If you’re into cozy chaos, real food, and homes that feel like hugs with a wink, you’re exactly where you belong.

My story

it wasn’t easy to start but. . .

here I am, Michele—the heart, hands, and unapologetic sass behind Maison Hearth. I’m a mom to three amazing kids, a grandma to five absolutely adorable grandchildren, and I live in Western New York (yes, very far from New York City 😉) with my husband of 12 years, affectionately known as Mr. Pita.

Seven years ago, life threw us a curveball when he survived a stroke. While it could have been so much worse, it reshaped our world in ways we never expected. What didn’t change? Our sense of humor, our habit of teasing each other, the ridiculous nicknames, and our shared decision to keep choosing joy—sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, always together.

After years in retail and restaurant life, Maison Hearth became my way back to myself. It’s my cozy corner of the world where I share:

  • Comfort food that actually gets made (and devoured)
  • Baking and recipes that don’t require sainthood-level patience
  • Creative projects that are fun, not frustrating
  • A home that’s cozy, clean-ish, and clearly lived in

Perfection? Not invited. Real life? Always welcome.

I really believe that:

Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”!

I love to read this blog!

“I can’t get enough of Maison Hearth! Michele’s recipes are easy to follow, totally delicious, and the stories behind them are just as fun. Every post feels like a visit to a friend’s kitchen—cozy, chaotic, and full of heart (with just the right amount of sass). I always leave inspired and hungry!”

Mexican dishes—fajitas, tacos, you name it—are my jam. And don’t even get me started on old-school treats like chocolate malts and fizzy sodas straight out of the 60s.

Some other favorites? I’m a huge Walt Disney World fanMagic Kingdom will always have my heart. I also love getting outdoors, especially at Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas and the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg.

I like my homes cozy, my food cheesy, and my life a little messy—but always delicious.
