Fajita Seasoning

This homemade fajita seasoning is a quick blend of pantry spices that adds bold, smoky flavor to chicken, beef, shrimp, or vegetables without the additives in store-bought packets.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 tsp. Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp. Cumin
  • 3 tsp. Garlic Salt
  • 3 tsp. Onion Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 6 tsp. Cornstarch
  • 3 tsp. Smoked Paprika
  • 4 ½ tsp. Sugar
  • ¾ tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions
 

  • With a whisk, mix all the ingredients together.
  • Store in air-tight container.

For Fajitas

  • Add 3 tbsp. Fajita seasoning to ⅓ C. warm water, stir till combined well.
  • In a resealable bag or container with a lid, place the fajita mixture and marinate for 30 minutes or more.
  • In a frying pan, heat 1 tbsp. olive oil and then add 1lb. of steak, shrimp or chicken and cook until done.

Notes

  • You can also add or decrease the spices according to your taste buds.
  • This recipe is equivalent to 3 packets of store-bought.
